The Initial Consultation
What to expect during your first visit to the clinic
Your first visit will begin with a discussion about your symptoms and medical history (the paperwork will be sent to you to complete prior to your appointment) to help the clinician understand your needs. This includes any relevant past surgeries, injuries, illnesses, treatments, and aspects of your lifestyle such as work, diet, and physical activity.
The clinician will assess whether the treatments we offer are appropriate for you. If not, you may be referred to another healthcare professional within The Werx Group or for additional tests, such as imaging or blood work.
Following an assessment, the clinician will explain their findings and collaborate with you to develop a treatment plan. You’re encouraged to ask questions at any time.
A follow-up appointment will likely be recommended. As a general guide, acute issues (less than 3 months) may require 3–4 sessions; chronic conditions (over 6 months) may need 5–6 or more, especially in complex cases.
Clinical hour appointments refers to, appointments that are bookable during the normal opening times of the clinic. Our out of hour appointments are bookable slots that fall outside of the normal clinical opening times.
